Dr. Tara S. Barnhart began working as a chiropractic assistant at Spurlock Chiropractic Centre in 2008 while attending Morehead State University. After spending nearly two years working with patients and seeing them achieve much success and relief with chiropractic treatment, she decided to follow in the footsteps of her father, W. Michael Spurlock, D.C., and become a chiropractor.
She then attended Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Missouri, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology and her Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Dr. Barnhart also has progressive training in the Active Release Technique (ART) of the spine. She also has received advanced post graduate training in Neurodiagnostics, MRI Spinal Interpretation, Spinal Trauma Pathology, Crash Dynamics and Spinal Biomechanical Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Academy of Chiropractic Post-Doctoral Division, in Buffalo, NY. Dr. Barnhart is board certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners. She joined Spurlock Chiropractic Centre in 2014, and her professional interests include interverterbal disc pathology and chiropractic care during pregnancy.
Upon returning home to her roots in Kentucky, she has a strong desire to restore biomechanical and structural correction in order to help her patients gain their optimal quality of life.
